ANALYSIS: The Cubs' fire sale, if nothing else, opened up a lot of opportunities for other players in the organization. That includes Rafael Ortega, who has certainly made the most of his chance. Last Sunday, the 30-year-old went yard three times, which catapulted his rostered rate from basically zero to its current mark.

Since assuming the leadoff spot just before the trade deadline, Ortega has four homers and two stolen bases and has recorded multiple hits in five of 11 games. On the year, he's hitting .320 with six homers and five steals and could be a good source of runs and speed even if and when his bat regresses.
