BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 30% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Rafael Dolis had a seven-year MLB hiatus, but after an extended run over in Japan, he has been a pivotal asset in the Blue Jays bullpen for the 2020 campaign. Ken Giles may have just returned from the IL and is slated to be back in the closer's seat, but he has struggled to immediately get back into top form, and there is still plenty of high-leverage work to go around for Dolis to take advantage of.
Dolis currently holds a 1.69 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with two wins, four saves, and seven holds across 21.1 IP. His 5.1 BB/9 is certainly less than ideal, but that figure is rounded out by his 10.5 K/9 mark and the sole home run that he has allowed for the season, making his FIP a reliable 3.29. His LOB% of 73.2% might seem high, but that risk is sufficiently negated by his strikeout rate, 48.9% ground ball rate, and the very suppressed hard contact rate on batted balls of 26.5%. Even with the return of Giles and the impending return of Jordan Romano, Anthony Bass has seen a bit of a downgrade in his role, and the likes of Anthony Kay, Shun Yamaguchi, and Thomas Hatch are safely reserved in long-relief duty. With his newly-discovered ability to keep damage at a minimum, Rafael Dolis is a versatile bullpen option for a team often finding itself ahead at the end of their games.
