ANALYSIS: The NFL schedule makers were not kind to Rachaad White. So far this season, he's matched up against the best, second-best, third-best, fourth-best, and sixth-best defenses in terms of half-PPR fantasy points to opposing running backs. That list doesn't include the Chicago Bears, who currently give up the fewest yards per game on the ground.
It's only fair that White finally gets a cupcake game after all that. The Carolina Panthers, contrary to White's gauntlet of a schedule, are allowing the third-most fantasy points to running backs.
Despite the tough draw, White is still the RB8 in half-PPR formats this season. Forty-six targets (ninth in the league among running backs) have helped boost his ranking. The second-year professional is also essentially a one-man show in Central Florida. White's garnered 199 touches through 11 games (18 per game). Ke'Shawn Vaughn is second on the team at the position with just 26 touches. Veteran Chase Edmonds has 24.
Despite the less-than-stellar season in Tampa and a plethora of injuries on the defense (linebackers Lavonte David and Devin White, and cornerback Jamel Dean are all out on Sunday), the Buccaneers are still 5.5-point favorites this weekend. White will get plenty of opportunities on the ground and through the air. He's a lock for lineups across all formats.
