Projecting Rest of Season Top 10 Outfielders in 2024 Fantasy Baseball

Aaron Judge - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Thunder Dan Palyo projects which ten outfielders will finish the season in the top 10 for the 2024 fantasy baseball season.

Did you know six of the top 20 fantasy baseball players are currently outfielders? And only four of those players were drafted within the top 20 this Spring.

The 2024 baseball season has brought plenty of surprises. We can rarely predict injuries and we often miss on which players will overperform or underperform from season to season, too.

But over the course of a full season, the cream usually rises to the top. Let's take a look at the top ten performing outfielders as of right now and then make some predictions as to which of them will remain there by the time the season wraps up in October.

Current Top 10 Outfielders for Fantasy Baseball

Here are the top 10 most valuable outfielders in 5x5 roto leagues right now according to Yahoo's player rankings.

Hitter R HR RBI SB AVG
Aaron Judge 47 21 55 5 0.294
Juan Soto 49 17 53 4 0.318
Marcell Ozuna 38 18 55 0 0.316
Kyle Tucker 42 19 40 10 0.266
Mookie Betts 46 10 35 9 0.312
Jurickson Profar 35 9 42 4 0.325
Fernando Tatis Jr. 43 11 33 7 0.282
Teoscar Hernandez 36 13 41 3 0.258
Yordan Alvarez 35 12 31 3 0.288
Kyle Schwarber 44 11 35 4 0.231

The Yankees lead the way with Judge and Soto at the top of the rankings here. Soto is day-to-today with an injury and managers have to hope it's nothing major as he's been simply spectacular in his first season in the Bronx.

Speaking of injuries, Kyle Tucker is on the 10-day IL and has slipped down the rankings a bit as a result. It sounds as if he won't miss any additional time and he is poised for a huge year in Houston.

Who stands out here as a major surprise? Well, it has to be Jurickson Profar, who is many years removed from being a top prospect and has bounced around the league to multiple teams before finally settling in with San Diego. Profar probably doesn't hit enough home runs or steal enough bases to hang around all season, but his .325 batting average is the best on the board and he should continue to drive in runs hitting behind Tatis Jr. and in front of Manny Machado.

Projected Top 10 Outfielders for Fantasy Baseball

Taking into account the rest of the season projections from ATC and others (plus my own opinion), here's how I see the final top ten outfielder rankings shaking out by the end of this season.

  1. Juan Soto
  2. Aaron Judge
  3. Mookie Betts
  4. Kyle Tucker
  5. Fernando Tatis Jr.
  6. Yordan Alvarez
  7. Teoscar Hernandez
  8. Marcell Ozuna
  9. Jarren Duran
  10. Julio Rodriguez

The New York guys are going to be hard to move out of those top two spots, they are feeding off each other and both look absolutely locked in.

Mookie is trending up again after a torrid start and then a small slump in May. He and Tucker are guys I love for their ability to swipe bases in addition to hit for average and power.

I think Teoscar Hernandez has staying power, we are seeing him thrive in L.A. and his power numbers can make up for a middling batting average.

Ozuna is likely to drop off a bit, but his power should still be there even if his average drops under .300 by the end of the year.

The two guys outside the top ten that I like to move in by the end of the season are Duran and J-Rod. Duran is stealing bases like a madman, swiping 14 already and I can see a path to 35-40 steals by October.

Meanwhile, J-Rod is finally heating up at the plate, swatting three home runs in the last two weeks. He probably won't get to 30 home runs this season, but he could still end up with 25 when it's all said and done with 30-35 steals, too.
