Welcome to our PrizePicks PGA DFS prop picks for the PGA Championship (Round 2). The golf season is in full swing, and PrizePicks has an extensive selection of props for us to take advantage of! PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or singular stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.
Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best and easiest-to-win PGA DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit of up to $100.
This week, we're at Oak Hill Country Club for the PGA Championship! Oak Hill provided a tough test for the players in round one as only nine players shot -2 or better. I and the entire Rotoballer PGA staff have put out 1,000s of words on the course, key stats, and field this week, so this article won't be focused on the minutiae of projecting outright winners or DFS pivot plays. Instead, I'll be solely focused on a few money-making opportunities I've found in PrizePicks' unique markets to help you build your bankroll as the PGA Tour season gets into full swing! Today's plays are specifically for round two on Friday, May 19th.
Featured Promo: Our friends at PrizePicks are hooking you up. Cameron Smith MORE Birdie or Better than Jordan Spieth
Both Cameron Smith and Jordan Spieth struggled yesterday, shooting +2 and +3 respectively. Smith finished with three birdies on the card and Spieth finished with two. On the surface there isn't a whole lot separating these guys. However, this selection is more a fade of Jordan Spieth than anything else.
Spieth entered the week dealing with a wrist injury and we saw the wrist taped up and clearly still affecting him. He noted that he almost withdrew after a bunker shot on 4 and if he continues to slide on the leaderboard, I don't think a possible WD is completely out of the question.
Smith finished with more birdies than Spieth yesterday and left some opportunities out there. He failed to make birdie on the par-5 13th hole or the drivable par-4 14th, two of the easier birdie holes on the course. Smith has an elite short game and if he is able to capitalize on these holes today, the birdie or better number should go up from yesterday's total.
Kazuki Higa Holes Played UNDER 36.5
Higa jumped to the top of the leaderboard yesterday, shooting -4 on his first five holes. However, he shot +6 over his final 13 holes, failing to make a single birdie. Higa shot a 40 on the back nine, making bogey or worse in all four of his closing holes.
The Cinderella story has ended for the 28-year-old and unfortunately the end of yesterday's round is more than likely a sign of things to come today. I believe we are going to see a complete implosion from the Japanese youngster on Friday afternoon. Higa has missed the cut in both of his previous major appearances and he will all the likely make it three for three today.
Jon Rahm LESS than 71.5 Strokes
Jon Rahm has been the best golfer in the world since the start of 2023 and was the favorite to win the tournament at the beginning of the week. The 76 he shot yesterday was shocking and I expect a complete turnaround today.
Rahm uncharacteristically made two bogeys from the fairway yesterday and failed to capitalize on either par-5. Rahm ranks second on tour in par-5 scoring average this season so I don't foresee two straight days of letting them slip away. He also failed to capitalize on the drivable par-4 14th hole when he wasn't able to get up and down from the bunker. Rahm who leads the PGA Tour in scoring average doesn't normally give away birdie chances.
While his chances to win the tournament are seemingly over, I don't expect Rahm to quit today. I expect him to battle back and make the cut. The 2021 US Open winner has a history of performing well on difficult courses and I think that will be on display today. I expect Rahm to fight and make the weekend.
