Welcome to our PrizePicks PGA DFS prop picks for the FedEx St. Jude Championship (Round 1). The FedEx Cup Playoffs are already upon us, and to celebrate, PrizePicks has an extensive selection of PGA props to take advantage of! PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or singular stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.
Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best and easiest-to-win PGA DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit of up to $100.
This week, we're at TPC Southwind for the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship! The first leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs will see points quadrupled from their regular season benchmarks and the 70 playoff hopefuls cut down to 50 before the BMW Championship next week. As we've seen from past season-long champions like Billy Horschel and Bill Haas, anything really can happen come playoff season, and the variance in play around the confines of TPC Southwind will only further ramp up the unpredictability that comes with this high-stakes part of the campaign. I and the entire Rotoballer PGA staff have put out 1,000s of words on the course, key stats, and field this week, so this article won't be focused on the minutiae of projecting outright winners or DFS pivot plays. Instead, I'll be solely focused on a few money-making opportunities I've found in PrizePicks' unique markets to help you build your bankroll as the PGA Tour season gets into full swing! Today's plays are specifically for round one on Thursday, August 10.

Max Homa LESS than 68.5 Strokes
With finishes of 10th, 12th, and 21st in the three starts leading into the St. Jude Championship, Max Homa looks to be peaking just in time to take advantage of a stellar regular season campaign. Currently 4th in the FedEx Cup Standings, Homa is in prime position to make a charge toward his first FedEx Cup title. Max was one of the biggest risers in last year's TOUR Championship: shooting (-15) in four days last year at Eastlake, and will be a scary proposition for the front-runners if he can parlay his 2023 breakout into a better starting position at Eastlake for this year's final event.
Perhaps more encouraging than the recent finishes for Max is the fact that the ball-striking looks to be back in familiar form. Homa registered his best driving performance of the season at Hoylake, and has gained strokes on Approach in five of his last six starts. Southwind is a course that rewards driving accuracy - Homa finished second to Brian Harman in this category at the Open Championship, as well as precise approach play - Max ranks 7th over the last 50 rounds in Proximity from my key range of 125-175 yards. Homa also has a very accomplished history on Champion Bermudagrass greens (Quail Hollow, Eastlake), so if these ball-striking trends continue, Homa is a premier dark horse to take down the first playoff event and establish himself as a true threat for the 2023 FedEx Cup Championship.
Collin Morikawa MORE than 12.5 Greens in Regulation
I couldn't quite get there on the sub-25s we saw in the outright market, but that doesn't mean I'm turning bearish on Collin Morikawa in Memphis this week. With its emphasis on driving accuracy and mid-iron play, TPC Southwind remains one of the best pure course fits on the schedule for a player like Morikawa. Outside of a bitterly disappointing two days at Hoylake, Collin's ball striking has remained one of the most bankable entities on the PGA Tour, and Southwind has always rewarded top-class tee-to-green play.
Over the last three months, Morikawa rates out 4th in Good Drive % and 5th in Driving Accuracy - two stats that will be crucial if you want to access some of the smallest green complexes on the PGA Tour (4300 square feet on average), and the iron play is practically a foregone conclusion when we talk about the UC Berkeley alum. Collin rates out 8th in SG: APP, 5th in Birdie Chances Created, and 3rd in GIRs Gained over his last 24 rounds. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him get another golden shot at his first Tour win in over two years, and with recent rains softening up the turf conditions in Memphis, I tend to lean towards the Over in any GIR prop for players that can keep the ball in play off the tee. Morikawa fits the bill better than anyone in this field.
