Welcome to our PrizePicks PGA DFS prop picks for the 3M Open (Round 2). The golf season is in full swing, and PrizePicks has an extensive selection of props for us to take advantage of! PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or singular stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.
Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best and easiest-to-win PGA DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit of up to $100.
This week, we're at TPC Twin Cities for the 3M Open! TPC Twin Cities is a stark contrast from what we saw last week at the Open Championship. 82 of the 155 players in the field today were under par and eight players shot 65 or better. There are plenty of birdies to be made at the 3M Open and I would expect opportunities to be there all week for these players. I and the entire Rotoballer PGA staff have put out 1,000s of words on the course, key stats, and field this week, so this article won't be focused on the minutiae of projecting outright winners or DFS pivot plays. Instead, I'll be solely focused on a few money-making opportunities I've found in PrizePicks' unique markets to help you build your bankroll as the PGA Tour season gets into full swing! Today's plays are specifically for round two on Friday, July 21st.

Billy Horschel LESS than 68.5 Strokes
Watch out for bearded Billy! Horschel is in the midst of one of his worst PGA Tour seasons in recent years. He spoke during the Memorial about how badly he was struggling and was emotional about the state of his game. Something seemed to flip today though. The former FedEx Cup Champion looked confident and executed in all parts of his game. He was 6th in the field in strokes gained off the tee, 23rd on approach and 22nd putting on his way to an opening round (-5)66.
Horschel is currently ranked 119 in the FedEx Cup standings, with only the top 70 getting into the playoffs. It's an uphill climb for the Florida native but playoff runs aren't unknown to him. In 2014 Horschel was ranked 82nd in the FedEx Cup standings with just three events left before finishing second and then winning back-to-back events to ultimately win the cup. While it's highly unlikely that type of run is duplicated, Horschel can use those memories to propel him to the playoffs.
J.T. Poston MORE than 4.5 Birdies or Better
The Postman birdied seven holes today on his way to shooting a 65. He will play in the morning tomorrow in what should be softer conditions and has been great golf as of late. Poston finished inside the top six in two of his last three starts and is gaining momentum heading into the playoffs. We saw a similar type of run from him last year down the stretch which ultimately landed him at East Lake competing for the Tour Championship.
Poston finished the first round leading the field in putting. When the putter gets going for the Western Carolina grad, he can get extremely hot. He finished the day 46th on approach, 16th around the green but struggled mightily with the driver. Poston lost over 1.5 strokes against the field off the tee but still managed to birdie seven holes and get himself in the mix. If he can get the driver going a little better tomorrow I'd expect the birdies to keep rolling in.

Justin Thomas MORE than 68.0 Strokes
I'm sorry JT! I just can't get behind this one right now. Thomas hasn't shot less than 68 in any of his last nine rounds. In fact, since the Wells Fargo in May, Thomas has shot as many rounds in the 80s as he has under 68. That's bad, really bad.
JT actually hit the driver well today, finishing 6th in the field in strokes gained off the tee in round one. However, the putter remained horrendous. The two time major champion finished 116th out of 155 guys in strokes gained putting today. This has been a common theme and it appears as if he is trying anything to turn it around. We've seen putter changes, various putting grips and styles over the past couple of months. Nothing seems to be working.
Other Recommendations
- Tony Finau LESS than 68.0 Strokes
- Gary Woodland MORE Birdies or Better than Chad Ramey
