Welcome to our PrizePicks NBA DFS prop picks for Thursday, April 20th, 2023. The 2022-2023 NBA season is rolling along, and our friends over at PrizePicks still have a TON of great props we can look to take advantage of.
PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.
At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.

PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For NBA, Single Stat consists of points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, and free throws made, in which you determine if the player in question will go over or under their projected total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry, or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option.

De'Aaron Fox OVER 32.5 Points + Assists
I'll kick off today's slate with De'Aaron Fox's points + assists prop. Having just been named the Cluth Player of the Year, Fox has been outstanding for the Kings, surpassing this projection in two of his last two games in this series against the Golden State Warriors, averaging 38 PA during that stretch.
In tonight's game 3, the Kings will face the Warriors, this time in Golden State, after lighting the beam twice at home, leading the series 2-0. Unfortunately for the Warriors, Draymond Green has been suspended for tonight, which will significantly weaken their defense and potentially lead to more points for the Kings and Fox.
The books have Fox at -120 to go over 32.5 PA, while some have him listed at 33.5 PA, giving us a one-point margin. Fox should look to continue his streak against this Warrior defense, and for all I know, he could drop 20 points in the fourth quarter alone, so he should have no problem covering this for us.
Joel Embiid OVER 3.5 Assists
Next, let's take a look at Joel Embiid's assists prop. Embiid has surpassed this projection in three of his last five games, averaging 4.6 assists during that span.
After going up 2-0 at home, the Philadelphia 76ers look to take on the Brooklyn Nets for game 3 tonight in Brooklyn. So far, the Nets' game plan has been to double-team Embiid whenever he has the ball in the paint, and boy, has it been slowing him down scoring-wise. However, the issue with double-teaming is that it always leaves a man wide open, and being the superstar center that Embiid is, he is usually able to recognize where to pass the ball. Embiid had seven assists last game after being swarmed throughout the entire game by double teams.
The odds like this play at -130 odds to go over 3.5 assists, while others have him listed at 4.5 assists with heavy odds on the under, still giving us a one-point margin here.
Steph Curry OVER 4.5 Free Throws
Lastly, I'll be taking a look at Steph Curry's free throw prop. Curry has exceeded this projection in three of his last five contests, averaging 4.8 free throws during that span.
The Golden State Warriors are currently down 0-2 in the series. They will be playing at home tonight, and it is a must-win game for Curry and the Warriors.
I expect Curry to play aggressively, which will cause young defenders on him, such as Fox and Davion Mitchell, to foul. Let's not forget Curry does not miss his free throws, so a couple trips to the line, maybe an and-one, a foul on a three-pointer, would be all he needs.
Other Recommendations:
- James Harden UNDER 19.5 Points
- Torrey Craig OVER 8.5 Points
- Chris Paul UNDER 13.5 Points
Overall recommendation for this play: FLEX
