PrizePicks MLB DFS Prop Picks - Today's Over/Under Props for Tuesday, October 17, 2023

trea turner - fantasy baseball rankings shortstops draft sleepers MLB injury news

Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Tuesday, October 17, 2023. The 2023 MLB postseason is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks.

PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play.

On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.

Announcement: We have two awesome new Props Optimizers for the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and NCAA! The PrizePicks Optimizer and Prop Bets Optimizer are both available in our new Props Premium Package, which includes exclusive access to RotoBaller's VIP Discord chat rooms for props and betting.

PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests

PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.

The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.

You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

MLB DFS Props - Over/Under Picks for Today

Be sure to also check out our brand new PrizePicks Optimizer tool and the free PrizePicks DFS Props Tool to see more recommended picks.

Aaron Nola MORE than 5.5 strikeouts

This is the top prop on the PrizePicks Optimizer with a 53.2% chance of success, which is a tad lower than we would normally like to see but still within range. The reason the prop is a favorite is due to the fact that odds across the board have this listed at roughly -132, which is a decent value. Aaron Nola has struck out at least six batters in three of his previous four starts, including a nine-strikeout performance against the Braves in the Division Series. Zack Wheeler also managed to mow down eight Diamondbacks last night across six innings of work, so Nola has the ability to get to six here.

Trea Turner MORE than 8.0 hitter fantasy score

Trea Turner has been scorching hot this postseason and is now 14-for-28 with a ridiculous 1.426 OPS. He has eclipsed this fantasy total in four of his previous five games and will be up against Merrill Kelly tonight, whom he really enjoys facing. Across 21 at-bats, Turner has collected nine hits while posting a .500 OBP, which should help him on the basepaths tonight.

Merrill Kelly MORE than 14.0 pitching outs

The Diamondbacks better let Merrill Kelly go more than 14.0 pitching outs or they won't be in this series much longer. Last night, Arizona let Zac Gallen get absolutely torched to the tune of allowing five earned runs on eight hits while issuing two walks, and he still managed to record 15 outs. Merrill Kelly just needs to be a little bit better in this one and that is very possible. He has eclipsed this total in every single start this season except his first start of the season on March 31. He is accustomed (somewhat) to big games as he pitched in the WBC finale this season, so hopefully, he does not crumble early in this one.
