Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Thursday, August 10, 2023. The 2023 MLB season is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks.
PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.
Announcement: We have two awesome new Props Optimizers for the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and NCAA! The PrizePicks Optimizer and Prop Bets Optimizer are both available in our new Props Premium Package, which includes exclusive access to RotoBaller's VIP Discord chat rooms for props and betting.
PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

Kenta Maeda more than 6.0 strikeouts
Maeda has been solid lately as he has eclipsed this total in five of his previous six starts and matched this total in that sixth start. He will be up against the Tigers, who have posted the 10th-highest K rate vs. right-handers over the previous three weeks with a rate of 24.5%. They are also posting just a 5.6% walk rate over this same span, so Maeda should be able to avoid the free pass in this one. It should also be noted that Maeda's counterparts in Bailey Ober and Sonny Gray combined for a total of 19 strikeouts over the previous two nights.
Noah Syndergaard less than 4.0 strikeouts
Although the Blue Jays are posting the eighth-highest K rate vs. right-handers over the previous three weeks, they are also posting a walk rate north of 8% and are also posting a wRC+ mark near 100, which could cause Syndergaard some issues. This number is also a bit high for Noah as he has eclipsed it just three times this season and has failed to do so in each of his previous five starts dating back to May 27th.
Hunter Brown more than 5.0 strikeouts
This could be a bit dicey as Brown has struck out exactly four batters in each of his previous three starts. That being said, he also eclipsed five strikeouts in the five starts prior to those four starts, if that makes sense. He will be up against the Orioles in a day game (which I love for strikeout potential), who are posting the fifth-highest K rate vs. right-handers over the previous three weeks with a rate of 27.1%. Brown will also be on the road in this game where his ERA is a full run lower than at home, and he has also posted a very solid 9.9 K/9 mark.
