PrizePicks MLB DFS Prop Picks - Today's Over/Under Props for Thursday, April 27, 2023

Ozzie Albies - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Today's PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Thursday, April 27, 2023, by Kipp Heisterman. Use his MLB over/under props recommendations to win money on PrizePicks.

Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Thursday, April 27, 2023. The 2023 MLB season is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks.

PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.

At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.

PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests

PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.

The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.

You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

Tyler Mahle more than 5.5 strikeouts

Mahle has started the season by posting 22 strikeouts over his first 21 2/3 innings pitched, which is good for a 9.14 K/9. This is right is line with his career average of 9.4 K/9 and is a solid number for a guy of his caliber. He has a matchup today against the Kansas City Royals, which should prove to be a solid matchup. Over the previous two weeks, Kansas City is posting the fifth-highest K rate against right-handers with a rate of 26.3% and is pairing that with an abysmal 51 wRC+ mark.

Seth Lugo more than 4.5 strikeouts

This play will come with some risk as the Cubs have been very solid against right-handed pitching as noted by their 29.7% K rate and 128 wRC+ mark over the previous two weeks. That being said, Lugo has been solid for the Padres thus far by posting a 2.78 ERA along with a 9.13 K/9 over his first 22 2/3 innings pitched. He has eclipsed this total in all four of his starts, including a six-strikeout performance against the Diamondbacks in his last start, a team that strikes out at a similar rate to the Cubs.

Hayden Wesneski more than 4.5 strikeouts

There is no denying the matchup here for Wesneski against the Padres. Over the previous two weeks, San Diego has posted nearly a 27% K rate vs. righties, which is ranked second worst in baseball. They have also posted just a 74 wRC+ mark over that span.

The question is which Wesneski are we going to get? Are we going to get the one that mowed down seven Athletics two starts ago, or the one that allowed seven runs and struck out zero Mariners over 1 1/3 innings pitched back on April 11th? I think the matchup here is too strong to ignore as six of the last eight right-handers the Padres have faced have eclipsed this total.

Ozzie Albies more than 1.5 total bases

Albies has posted a 1.001 OPS with three dingers over the previous seven days. He has also eclipsed this total in four of his previous six games. He will be up against left-handed starter Braxton Garrett, who has allowed a .290 BAA to right-handed hitters since 2021. Meanwhile, Albies has posted an .899 OPS vs. lefties since 2021 compared to a .730 OPS vs. right-handers over that same span.
