Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Saturday, June 17, 2023. The 2023 MLB season is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks.
PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.
Announcement: We have two awesome new Props Optimizers for the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and NCAA! The PrizePicks Optimizer and Prop Bets Optimizer are both available in our new Props Premium Package, which includes exclusive access to RotoBaller's VIP Discord chat rooms for props and betting.

PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

Joey Wentz more than 4.0 strikeouts
I know this sounds gross, but hear me out. Wentz has struck out at least four in each of his previous four starts and in eight total starts on the season. While he has been crushed to the tune of posting a 7.23 ERA, he will be up against a Twins team that has struggled vs. left-handers all season and are posting an 88 wRC+ and a 6.1% walk rate vs. Southpaws over the previous two weeks. They are also posting the 10th-highest K rate vs. lefties over that same span with a rate of 24.6%.
Logan Gilbert more than 6.0 strikeouts
Gilbert has a solid matchup against the White Sox, who have been struggling vs. right-handers in recent weeks. Over the previous two weeks, the White Sox have posted a 26.9% K rate vs. righties, which is ranked fourth-worst in the league. They have paired this with just a 7.4% walk rate and an 80 wRC+ mark. Gilbert has managed to match or exceed six strikeouts in three of his previous five starts and in 10 total starts this season.
Hunter Greene more than 6.5 strikeouts
Greene has struck out at least seven batters in five straight starts and in seven of his previous eight starts. He has a relatively solid matchup against the Astros today as Houston has been struggling without Yordan Alvarez in the lineup. Over the previous two weeks, the Astros have posted the eighth-highest K rate vs. righties with a rate of 24.2%. They have also posted just an 84 wRC+ mark and a 6.5% walk rate vs. righties over this same span.
Bryce Elder more than 5.0 strikeouts
Elder has matched or exceeded this total in four of his previous five starts and in six starts this season. The matchup against the Rockies is a good one as they are currently striking out at a clip of 25.2% vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks, which ranks fifth-worst in the league. Elder has also posted an 8.0 K/9 at home compared to a 7.0 K/9 on the road, which is significant enough to give him the nod here at home.
Other Recommendations: Kodai Senga more than 6.0 strikeouts
