Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Monday, May 15, 2023. The 2023 MLB season is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks.
PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.
Announcement: We have two awesome new Props Optimizers for the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and NCAA! The PrizePicks Optimizer and Prop Bets Optimizer are both available in our new Props Premium Package, which includes exclusive access to RotoBaller's VIP Discord chat rooms for props and betting.
PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

Michael Wacha less than 4.5 strikeouts
Wacha is not a high-strikeout pitcher as he has reached five or more strikeouts in just two of his seven starts this season. He has a tough matchup against the Royals in this one as well as they have finally seemed to find their stride offensively. Over the previous two weeks, Kansas City is posting just a 20.7% K rate vs. right-handed pitchers, which is ranked in the top half of the league. They are also putting a hurting on righties as noted by their 126 wRC+ mark over that same span.
Jameson Taillon more than 4.5 strikeouts
Taillon has struck out five or more in three of his previous four starts, including two separate seven-strikeout performances over that span. While the matchup may seem tough against Houston, they have actually been struggling in recent weeks.
Over the previous two weeks, they have posted a K rate of 22.2% vs. righties, which ranks 12th-worst in the league. They have also posted an abysmal 63 wRC+ mark over that same span, which ranks third-worst in the league. Seven of the previous eight right-handed starters the Astros have faced have eclipsed this total as well.
Pablo Lopez less than 6.5 strikeouts
This appears a bit risky at first glance as Lopez has struck out at least seven batters in four of his previous five starts; however, there are a few things working against him tonight. First, the Dodgers are posting the seventh-lowest K rate vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks with a rate of just 20.7%. Second, they are posting the second-best walk rate at 11.8%, which could get Lopez into trouble, especially considering he is fresh off of a four-walk game against the Padres.
The Dodgers are also posting a 120 wRC+ mark vs. righties over the previous two weeks, which could add to Lopez's trouble. Lastly, the books have his under set to roughly -140, which means this 6.5 likely will not last long before dropping to 6.0.
Anthony Rizzo more than 7.5 hitter fantasy score
Rizzo has been swinging a hot bat, as noted by his 1.057 OPS and three dingers over the previous week. He will be up against Alek Manoah, who has allowed three home runs and a .271 BAA to left-handed hitters thus far in 2023. Rizzo has also posted a .902 OPS with eight bombs off of right-handers in 2023.
