Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Monday, August 28, 2023. The 2023 MLB season is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks. PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play.
On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.

PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

Chris Sale more than 5.5 strikeouts
Chris Sale has struck out at least six batters in six of his previous eight starts. Although the Astros are posting just a 17.1% K rate vs. left-handers over the previous three weeks, Sale just faced them and pitched well enough to recommend him here. Over five innings of work, he managed to mow down nine Astros. Shooting for six here seems very reasonable. Sale will also be at home in this one, where his K/9 mark is more than two strikeouts higher than on the road.
Reese Olson more than 5.5 strikeouts
We missed on Reese Olson against the Cubs last week, but that was a less-than-play. Now, we are looking at a more-than-play against the Yankees. This matchup is superb as the Yankees are posting the highest K rate in baseball against right-handers over the previous three weeks with a rate of nearly 30%. Their offense is also scuffling in a bad way as they are posting just a wRC+ mark of 68 over that same three-week span. Olson has managed to strike out six batters in two of his previous three starts as well.
Xzavion Curry more than 3.0 strikeouts
Xzavion Curry has struck out three or more batters in two of his previous three starts. He should also be in line for a normal starter's workload in this one as he has been stretched out to 81 pitches as recently as August 18. The matchup is solid against the Twins as they are posting the third-highest K rate against right-handers over the previous three weeks with a rate of 28%.
Andrew Abbott more than 5.0 strikeouts
Andrew Abbott will be facing the Giants, who are posting the fifth-highest K rate against left-handers with a rate of 27.1%. They are also pairing this with a walk rate of just 5.7%, which should help keep Abbott out of some trouble as he has allowed three or more walks in multiple games this season. Abbott has also reached or eclipsed this number in nine of his previous 11 starts.
