Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Friday, September 8, 2023. The 2023 MLB season is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks. PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play.
On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.

PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

Cristopher Sanchez more than 4.5 strikeouts
Christopher Sanchez will be up against the Miami Marlins, who are currently posting the 12th-highest K rate vs. left-handers over the previous three weeks with a rate of 24.2%. They are also posting a sub-100 wRC+ mark and just a 5.5% walk rate over this same span, which should help keep Sanchez in the game. This is a number that he has eclipsed in five straight starts as well as in eight of his previous 11 starts.
Drew Rom more than 3.5 strikeouts
We are going to go with another Southpaw in this one with Drew Rom. Although Rom is likely unknown, he racked up 10 strikeouts through his first nine innings pitched prior to his most recent start where he laid an egg by striking out just one batter through 4 2/3 innings pitched. Tonight, he will be up against the Reds, who are posting the fourth-highest K rate vs. left-handers over the previous three weeks with a rate of 25.3%. They are also struggling offensively as noted by their wRC+ mark of 82 over that same span.
Mike Clevinger more than 5.0 strikeouts
Mike Clevinger will be up against the Detroit Tigers, and although they blasted him for eight earned runs in his most recent start, the matchup is still conducive for strikeouts. Over the previous three weeks, the Tigers are posting the highest K rate vs. right-handers with a rate of 28.3%. This is also a number that Clevinger has hit or eclipsed in five of his previous 10 starts, one of which was a six-strikeout performance against these Tigers.
Taj Bradley + George Kirby more than .5 first-inning runs allowed
This is a bit of a fun prop that will be over quickly as it is a play on just the first inning. Both of these pitchers have struggled recently and will be up against tough offenses. Kirby has allowed three or more earned runs in each of his previous three starts while Bradley has allowed four or more earned runs in four of his previous seven starts.
Kirby will be up against the Rays, who are posting a wRC+ mark of 121 vs. right-handers over the previous three weeks, which ranks seventh-best in the league. Meanwhile, Bradley will be up against the Mariners, who are posting a wRC+ mark of 133 vs. right-handers over the previous three weeks, which ranks fourth-best in baseball over that span.
