Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Friday, September 29, 2023. The 2023 MLB season is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks.
PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play.
On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.
Announcement: We have two awesome new Props Optimizers for the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and NCAA! The PrizePicks Optimizer and Prop Bets Optimizer are both available in our new Props Premium Package, which includes exclusive access to RotoBaller's VIP Discord chat rooms for props and betting.
PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

Nick Martinez MORE than 4.0 strikeouts
This could be a tad risky; however, the PrizePicks Optimizer loves this play as it is at the top of the board with a 55.56% chance of hitting. Martinez has worked himself up to 62 pitches in his most recent start and could get a bit more length in this one. This is good news against a White Sox team that is posting a 24.6% K rate vs. right-handers over the previous three weeks with a wRC+ mark sitting at an awfully low 69.
Carlos Rodon MORE than 5.5 strikeouts
Carlos Rodon has a solid matchup tonight against the Kansas City Royals. Over the previous three weeks, the Royals have posted a 31.5% K rate vs. left-handers, which ranks the second-worst in baseball over that span. They are also posting a sub-8% walk rate and an abysmal wRC+ mark of 66. Rodon has also eclipsed this total in two of his previous three starts while amassing 23 strikeouts across 18 innings pitched.
Dylan Cease LESS than 7.0 strikeouts
Taking an under on Dylan Cease is always a tad risky, but he has a tough matchup tonight against the San Diego Padres. Over the previous three weeks, San Diego has posted just a 19.9% K rate vs. right-handers, which ranks the sixth-best in baseball over that span. They have also posted a solid 106 wRC+ mark and a walk rate of 11.2%. Add in the fact that Cease has failed to eclipse this total in nine of his previous 11 starts and has posted a K/9 mark that is 2.2 strikeouts fewer at home than on the road, and you have a solid recipe for success with this one.
