Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Friday, September 15, 2023. The 2023 MLB season is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks. PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play.
On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.
Announcement: We have two awesome new Props Optimizers for the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and NCAA! The PrizePicks Optimizer and Prop Bets Optimizer are both available in our new Props Premium Package, which includes exclusive access to RotoBaller's VIP Discord chat rooms for props and betting.
PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

Jose Berrios MORE than 5.5 strikeouts
Berrios has struck out six or more batters in six of his previous 10 starts. He will be pitching at home in this one where he has posted an 8.8 K/9 mark and a 3.39 ERA, both of which are better than his road stats. He will be up against the Red Sox as well, who have posted a 23.5% K rate vs. right-handers over the previous three weeks, which ranks in the bottom half of baseball over that span.
Hunter Greene MORE than 7.5 strikeouts
This could be a tad dicey as Greene has only eclipsed this number once since coming off of the IL last month; however, that one time was in his most recent start and he was up against some tough opponents in the starts prior to that. He will be up against the Mets tonight, who have posted a 25.3% K rate vs. right-handers over the previous three weeks, which ranks the sixth-worst in baseball. Prior to coming off of the IL, Greene had hit this number in eight of 14 starts.
Aaron Nola MORE than 5.5 strikeouts
This is a bit of a discount on Aaron Nola as we are typically used to seeing 6.0-6.5. He has struck out at least six batters in 10 of his last 12 starts. He will be up against the St. Louis Cardinals tonight, who have posted the 10th-highest K rate vs. right-handers over the previous three weeks with a rate of 24.9%. They have also paired this with a mediocre wRC+ of 85, which should help Nola stay out of (some) trouble.
Justin Steele MORE than 5.5 strikeouts
This is another one that could be a tad dicey. Steele has managed to mow down at least six batters in 10 of his previous 11 starts, including a home start against these Arizona Diamondbacks on September 9 in his most recent start. While the Diamondbacks have posted just a 17.5% K rate against left-handers over the previous three weeks, they have also posted a sub-8% walk rate as well as just a 75 wRC+ over that same span. This tells me that Steele should be able to last long enough to get over the hump in this one. I also like the fact that this game will (if the roof is closed at Chase Field) be played in a controlled environment.
