PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. MLB DFS Prop Picks for 7/6/22
Shane Bieber over 6.0 strikeouts - Bieber has matched or eclipsed this total in four of his previous six starts and has a solid matchup against the Tigers today. Over the previous two weeks, Detroit has posted a K rate of 23.2% against right-handed pitching, which is ranked 12th-worst in the league over that span. Bieber has also faced Detroit twice this season and has posted 15 strikeouts across 15 IPs. He should be able to last in this one as well given Detroit's 96 wRC+ vs. righties over the previous two weeks.
Trevor Rogers over 5.0 strikeouts - This is a bit dicey, but Rogers has matched or eclipsed this total in three of his previous five starts and has a great matchup against the Angels. Over the previous two weeks, the Angels have posted the second-highest K rate in baseball against left-handers with a rate of 29.3%. The major concern here is that the Angels are walking at a clip of 17.2% over that span, which could get Rogers into trouble.
Max Fried over 5.0 strikeouts - This is a solid spot for Fried in terms of strikeouts as the Cardinals have posted the fourth-highest K rate against left-handers over the previous two weeks with a rate of 28.4%. Fried has performed well this season in the strikeout category and has hit or eclipsed this total in four of his previous five starts and in 12 total starts. St. Louis has posted a 137 wRC+ vs. lefties over this span as well, so Fried will need to tread lightly, but this is a number he can certainly achieve.
Merrill Kelly over 4.5 strikeouts - This might be my favorite prop on the board tonight. Kelly has gone over this total in four of his previous five starts. He has also posted an 8.66 K/9 at home as opposed to a 5.45 K/9 on the road this season. He will be facing the Giants who have posted the fifth-worst K rate against right-handers over the previous two weeks with a rate of 25.3%. They have also posted just a 7.4% walk rate and 81 wRC+ mark over that same span.
Other Recommendations - Bo Bichette over 1.5 total bases, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. over 1.5 total bases
