PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

MLB DFS Prop Picks for 03/30/23
Sandy Alcantara more than 4.5 strikeouts - While the Mets will be a tough matchup for Sandy as they stuck out just 19.6% of the time against righties in 2022, this number is just too low for him. He posted an 8.19 K/9 at home in 2022 and had five or more strikeouts in 24 starts, including two of his four starts against the Mets.
Shane Bieber more than 6.0 strikeouts - Bieber had a solid spring finale in which he struck out 11 batters over 6 2/3 innings pitched. He finished 2022 with a 25% K rate, which was well below his career average of 29.3%, so some positive regression should be expected in 2023. That could certainly start on Opening Day as he faces a Mariners' squad that ranked in the top half of baseball in terms of K rate vs. right-handers in 2022.
Shohei Ohtani more than 6.5 strikeouts - This may be my favorite play on the board as long as Ohtani is ready to take on a full workload. He will be up against an Athletics team that struck out 24.1% (sixth-most) against right-handed pitchers in 2022. Ohtani faced the A's four times in 2022 and struck out 30 batters across 24 2/3 innings pitched. He should be in a good spot to mow down at least seven tonight.
Gerrit Cole less than 8.0 strikeouts - It is no secret I am down on Cole in terms of strikeouts this season as I previously wrote him up as an under 8.5 10+ strikeout games. He has not lasted more than 5 1/3 IP in any of his previous three Opening Day starts. The Yankees may take it easy on him in this one as well given the state of their current rotation. He has a decent matchup against a Giants team that ranked in the top 10 in terms of K rate vs. right-handers in 2022, but this still seems a tad high for Cole in his first start of the season. For reference, Cole had 14 games of more than eight strikeouts in 2022.
Other Recommendations - Max Scherzer more than 6.0 strikeouts
