Week 8 NFL DFS Cheat Sheet: Expert Picks and Lineups (Premium Content)

All other Premium Tools can be accessed on the premium dashboard.

Welcome to Week 8 of the NFL Season! Each week, I'll be bringing you our famous NFL DFS Cheat Sheet with expert research and picks for cash games and GPPs. Here are a few notes about the sheet.

  • I will now be using data exclusively from 2022!
  • The "fantasy points allowed rank" reflects how a player's opponent ranked in fantasy points allowed to their specific position. The lower the number, the better the matchup.
  • DVOA is a stat created by Football Outsiders that stands for Defense-adjusted Value Over Average and takes into account the quality of the previous offensive opponents. This rating is being shown for both the offensive player's team and their opponent.
  • A play labeled "cash" is a higher-owned play that is recommended for cash games. A "strong" play is playable in all formats. "Slate-breakers" are some of my favorite GPP targets for upside or reduced ownership.
  • Vegas and risk columns will all be updated during the week to reflect injury info, weather info, and the most recent Vegas info.

NFL CHEAT SHEET - WEEK 8

Cash Game Cores

DraftKings: Ehlinger/Pollard/Moore

FanDuel: Ehlinger/Jacobs/Pollard/Moore

Going down to Ehlinger is scary, I know, but he's likely to give us a usable number and he has the ability to scramble a bit. He also has some weapons here and a decent match-up against Washington. On DK, I am allowing some flexibility on RB2, WR1, and flex as there are a bunch of guys who are worthy options there (Jacobs, Barkley, Hill, Jefferson, Mostert, Pollard).

If we pay down at TE and QB both, we can load up these cash game lineups with elite backs and receivers. You'll see that in my sample lineups. I just wouldn't double up on guys from the same teams so if you roll Mostert then I wouldn't use Tyreek, too. And if I go with Jefferson at receiver, then I won't use Irv Smith Jr. at TE.

UPDATE: With Zeke out this week, Tony Pollard now enters the cash core on both sites.

Deeper GPP Flyers

This is where I want to give you some other players who will be in my player pool, who didn't make the cut for the cheat sheet. The main recommended plays are always going to be geared more toward cash games and single-entry tournaments, but here are some lower-owned options for large-field tournaments.

QB: Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff, Daniel Jones

RB: NONE - I am keeping a tight player pool at running back. MAYBE, I would consider D'Onta Foreman if Chuba Hubbard is out.

WR: Cooper Kupp, Brandin Cooks, DeAndre Hopkins, Wan'Dale Robinson, Alec Pierce

TE: George Kittle, Dalton Schultz, Noah Fant

DEF: SF, NE, WAS, CHI, NYJ

Week 8 DFS Slate Notes

***Saturday Updates***

There's a lot to digest here. First of all, Zeke is out and Tony Pollard is the chalk du jour that you need in cash games. It's a tough week for cash backs other than Pollard as there are at least 4-5 other guys in great spots here. On DK, both Kenneth Walker III and D'Onta Foreman are cheap and going to eat up quite a bit of ownership. But I'm not sure I want to go with three value backs in cash, I would like one of either Derrick Henry or Josh Jacobs in there, I think.

Deebo Samuel is OUT, which bumps up Brandon Aiyuk a bit, but mainly makes me want to play George Kittle more in GPPs.

Chuba Hubbard is OUT, meaning Foreman is a great, cheap, play. As I mentioned, though, RB is extremely loaded so it feels like you may not need him. But if you're playing multiple lineups it certainly would be a good idea to get some exposure.

This week has really changed from Monday until now with a lot of really good plays that people were on early in the week now ready to go under-owned due to the nature of the long week. Pollard might be a GPP fade for me or at least a guy I go underweight on due to the strength of the position. It's risky because he's good, but Chicago's defense isn't terrible either.

Joe Nicely and I talked about this last night but the Eagles' offensive players are sneaky this week and they have the highest implied team total against Pittsburgh. The other game that could outscore it's total in my opinion is Seattle-New York. But building lineups mainly using the top 3 games below certainly isn't a bad approach either.

FAVORITE GAME STACKS:

DET-MIA: Geno/Herbert -Ekeler- Lockett/Metcalf - Everett

LV-NO: Carr-Jacobs/Kamara-Olave/Adams/Johnson

MIN-ARI: Cousins-Jefferson/Smith Jr.-Hopkins

THERE IS A 5-point drop in Vegas totals after these three games, they will be the most highly targeted this week but offer substantially more scoring potential than the rest on the slate.
