DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/18/18): MLB DFS Lineups
We haven’t had a full 15-game Monday slate since Memorial Day and that won’t be any different this week. There are 10 full games (and one resumed game) taking place on Monday. Four of those matchups have an over/under of at least nine total runs. The game in Colorado (NYM/COL) is actually tied with another […]

Wil Myers, Austin Hedges Both Homer In Latest Rehab Outing

We have a nice medium sized slate for Monday with a number of viable pitching options. As a result, a lot of the hitters worth targeting are concentrated on a few teams. Equally important will be hitting on value plays and there a few punt-plays worth considering, with a few youngsters in Kansas City highlighting […]

Trading Up - Edwin Diaz
If you've read this column before, you know my standard guidance is to sell rather than buy closers. Today we take a look at the number one closer I'd actively target in a trade. I’m working on another article right now titled: “If You Only Buy One.” The idea behind it is that if you […]

Statcast Hitter Risers/Fallers - xSLG
We're all familiar with slugging percentage and how it values extra base hits over singles. Expected slugging percentage is a newer stat that attempts to identify a player's skill more so than regular slugging percentage, as xSLG removes defense from the equation. Since batters have control over their exit velocity and launch angle, but not […]

AL-Only Waiver Wire Team of the Week: MLB Week 12
Every week in baseball, a significant player will hit the disabled list, slip into a slump, or get traded out of a good spot. How fantasy owners adapt to these situations can make or break the season as a whole. One lousy add might not hurt the long-term standing of a team, but failing to […]

Eric Thames (1B/OF, MIL) - Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues OWNED IN: 43% of Leagues ANALYSIS: After missing seven weeks from left thumb surgery, Eric Thames had a quiet return to the Milwaukee Brewers, going 1-for-10 with six strikeouts. He came alive on Sunday, bombing two home runs, collecting four RBI and a steal. The big day brought his […]

Yuli Gurriel Now Hitting .362 In June
Houston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel went 2-for-5 in the Astros 7-4 win over the Royals on Sunday. Gurriel gave the Astros a 2-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI single and then added a softly hit infield single later in the game. Gurriel is hitting everything in sight and is 21-for-58 (.362) […]

Joey Votto Drives In Two Sunday
Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto turned in a solid game in his team's 8-6 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday. Votto went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. The big game gives Votto a .302/.425/.444 slash line to go along with six homers, 32 RBI, 34 runs, and 14 doubles. While he […]

John Hicks (C/1B, DET) - Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues OWNED IN: 44% of leagues ANALYSIS: Detroit Tigers catcher/first baseman John Hicks is a player to watch for fantasy purposes, as he has a .295 batting average this season. He has hits in seven of his last nine games, including four multi-hit games, and has also scored a run […]

Daniel Descalso (1B/2B/3B/OF, ARI) - Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues OWNED IN: 26% of leagues ANALYSIS: Arizona Diamondbacks utility player Daniel Descalso has come out of nowhere to be a waiver wire option. Somehow the Diamondbacks have enough confidence to allow him to hit in the middle of the lineup. He is rewarding that good faith with production we […]

Jose Abreu Out Of Lineup Sunday
Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu (rest) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Tigers. Nothing has been reported regarding an injury, so this appears to be just a routine day off. The 31-year-old has been a consistent fantasy provider again this season, posting a .284/.339/.504 slash line with 11 home runs and […]

DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/17/18): MLB DFS Lineups
We've got a ten game featured slate this Sunday on DraftKings. COL @ TEX boasts the highest run total at a 10.5 O/U, while WAS @ TOR and MIN @ CLE come in behind it at a 9.5 O/U. The Colorado bats should definitely be our focus on this slate, as they face a very […]

Chris Davis Out Of Lineup For Sixth Straight Game, Benched Indefinitely
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis has been indefinitely benched and is out of the lineup again Sunday, per thebaltimorewire.com's Ben Palmer. Davis has been one of the worst starting hitters in all of baseball this season, posting an abysmal .150/.227/.227 slash line with just four home runs and 15 RBI. After providing elite power […]

Jake Bauers (1B,TB) - Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues OWNED IN: 7% of leagues ANALYSIS: Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Jake Bauers is one of the Tampa Bsy youngsters that was recently brought up and is having success. Bauers has been performing quite well recently. After starting his career off 0-for-8, he has since figured things out […]

Yuli Gurriel (1B, HOU) - Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues OWNED IN: 36% of leagues ANALYSIS: Houston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel is the safest bet of any free agent pickup this week. Ryon Healy (1B/3B, SEA) - Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues OWNED IN: 42% of leagues ANALYSIS: Seattle Mariners infielder Ryon Healy has had a roller coaster season and the roller coaster of production is riding at a high point for Healy in recent weeks. Over the last seven days, Healy is hitting .360 with four home runs, five runs […]

Niko Goodrum (OF/1B, DET) - Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues OWNED IN: 6% of leagues ANALYSIS: Detroit Tigers first baseman/outfielder Niko Goodrum had another surprisingly good week. A .267/.294/.600 line is pretty solid for 15 at-bats, but the thing that gets me is the extra base hits. Of his four hits this week, three of them including his […]

The Cut List (Week 12): Time to Let Go?
Welcome to Week 12 of the Cut List. This week I take a look at Jed Lowrie, Justin Smoak, Yoan Moncada, and Mitch Moreland. What’s the common denominator here? They’re barely standard league viable and they were all super hot at one point or another this season. Lowrie was arguably the fantasy MVP in April, […]

The Corner Store is open! It is week 12 and the options are quite limited. We've gotten to the part of the season where reality has set in. Jay Bruce Remains Out of the Lineup
New York Mets first baseman/outfielder Jay Bruce (back) remains out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Bruce has missed three straight games since reporting his back soreness after Wednesday's contest. Bruce will be available off the bench on Saturday. He is expected to return to the starting lineup for Sunday's […]

Ian Desmond Punishes Rangers Pitching
Colorado Rockies first baseman Ian Desmond has been slumping terribly all season, but nothing cheers up a player's bat like the opportunity to hit against bad pitching in a hitter-friendly park. Starting with a three-game set in Philly and now moving on to Texas, Desmond is hitting .313 with three home runs and four RBI. […]

John Hicks Knocks Sixth Home Run to Help Beat White Sox

Moreland is just 3-for-31 in his last eight games with only a single RBI. Moreland […]
