Zimmermann Goes Seven Strong Innings
6 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann was feeling it on Sunday against the Blue Jays, hurling seven innings while allowing just one run on five hits. He registered six strikeouts and didn't walk anyone in the process, picking up the win as the Tigers offense gave him plenty of breathing room in the fifth and sixth innings. The win puts Zimmermann's record at 3-0 and improves his ERA to 3.91, and he's only had one start in his last five where he has allowed more than one run. At a 45/10 K/BB ratio in his 48 1/3 innings, Zimmermann is looking like a player the fantasy world needs to start taking notice of. Monitor his start on Friday against the Texas Rangers - he could prove to be a nice waiver wire or streaming gem.
