Zane Smith Eager To Prove Himself After Release From Trackhouse Racing
3 months agoIt was just announced Friday that Trackhouse Racing has released Zane Smith from their satellite Spire Racing operation for 2025. Although Smith is expected to reunite with Front Row Motorsports in an effective ride swap with Michael McDowell, his release likely means he will be eager to prove himself, and Daytona may be one of the best tracks for him to do that at. Not only has he won there twice in the Craftsman Truck Series, but he also finished 13th in both of his NASCAR Cup Series starts. He is still being regularly outrun by both of his teammates, even if he has been fortunate to get top-10 finishes more frequently than Corey LaJoie, but if there is a track where he could legitimately run up front, Daytona might be the place.
