Zack Wheeler Starting World Series Game 2
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies pitcher Zack Wheeler will reportedly be the team's starter in the second game of the World Series against the Houston Astros on Saturday, per a tweet from The Athletic's Matt Gelb on Wednesday. Wheeler logged a 2.82 ERA, a 2.89 FIP, 163 strikeouts and 34 walks in 153 innings during the regular season in his third season with the Phillies. He's only continued that success in the postseason with a 1.78 ERA, a 2.36 FIP and 25 strikeouts compared to three walks in four starts spanning 25 1/3 innings. The veteran didn't face the Astros during the regular season.
