Zack Wheeler Knocked Around, Takes Loss
6 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Zack Wheeler suffered an unsuccessful first start at Citi Field this season, taking a loss against the Washington Nationals. The 28-year-old surrendered seven runs on four hits, being pulled after 4 2/3 innings pitched. Walks were a major issue for Wheeler, as he allowed seven of them, playing a role in his early departure. The second inning was his biggest disappointment, as five runs came around to score. It was his first loss of the season as the Mets dropped their opening home series to the Washington Nationals.
