3 years agoThe Kansas City Royals have named Zack Greinke the team's Opening Day starting pitcher. He will face the Cleveland Guardians on April 7 as the Cleveland franchise dons the Guardians logo for the first time. Greinke signed with the Royals this offseason after a disappointing 2021 campaign with the Houston Astros. The 38-year-old went 11-6 with a 4.16 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP in 2021. His 17.2% strikeout rate on the year ranked in the bottom 11% of the league.
