Zack Gelof Goes Yard For First Homer
2 years agoOakland Athletics second base prospect Zack Gelof went 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and a walk on Thursday for Triple-A Las Vegas. The homer would be the first of the year for Gelof and he is now hitting .286 with seven RBI and four stolen bases over his first 35 at-bats. The former second-round pick in 2021 has shown good recognition of the strike zone throughout his career, but strikeouts have still been a weak link for him. Despite that, he has enough pop in his bat that he could hit around 15 homers at the next level. With the A's in a clear rebuild, Gelof should get a look at some point in 2023. With second base being a weak link in fantasy circles, Gelof would make for an intriguing dart throw in all formats if promoted.
