Zack Britton Could Return In August Or September
3 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Zack Britton (elbow) underwent surgery on his left elbow last fall. He is currently on the 60-day injured list. The left-hander began a flat-ground throwing program back in February and, according to the team, he is progressing well. The Yankees are hopeful that Britton could be back with the team in August or September if he has no setbacks in his rehabilitation. The 34-year-old veteran was held to just 18.1 innings last year due to injuries and he struggled during that brief stint, pitching to a 5.89 ERA and a 1.69 WHIP. However, he was a key cog in the back of the Yankees' bullpen in both 2019 and 2020, posting sub-2.00 ERAs both seasons.
