Zach Putnam, Matt Skole Among Five Released By White Sox
4 years agoThe Chicago White Sox released relief pitchers Zach Putnam and Caleb Frare, starting pitcher Matt Tomshaw, first baseman Matt Skole and infielder Ramon Torres on Friday. The White Sox are starting to trim their roster to get down to a list of 60 players by Sunday. Putnam missed all of the 2018 and 2019 seasons because of Tommy John surgery. The right-hander had a 1.04 ERA, 0.35 WHIP and 9.3 K/9 in seven appearances for the Pale Hose in 2017 before going under the knife. Skole, a left-handed hitter, has a .217/.290/.277 slash line with one homer, seven RBI, nine walks and 34 K's in 83 career at-bats with the White Sox the last two seasons.
