Zach Neto Raking Early In Spring
8 months agoLos Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto is having himself a big spring early in Cactus League action. The 23-year-old is 7-for-21 with two homers, one double, one triple, a walk, and seven RBI across 23 plate appearances, good for a 1.110 OPS. A 2022 first-round pick, Neto didn't take long to reach the big leagues as he appeared in 84 games in the 2023 season and hit .225 with nine home runs, five stolen bases, and a .685 OPS across 329 trips to the plate. While that type of production leaves something to be desired, Neto destroyed minor-league pitching in his brief exposure prior to reaching the big leagues and boasts an attractive combination of power and speed. His projected 18 homers and nine stolen bases at the middle-infield position by ATC for 2024 will certainly play.
