Zach Eflin’s Return From DL A Short One
6 years agoAfter missing 10 days on the disabled list with a blister in his right middle finger, Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zach Eflin returned to the mound for the Phillies on Monday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It would be his worst start in months, as he surrendered three runs in 2 2/3 innings, walking three and giving up five hits. It was his shortest outing of the year, as manager Gabe Kapler opted to pull him following just 75 pitches. While he would have a no-decision for his effort, the start is somewhat troubling, but considering his recent DL stint and the strength of the opponent, this may just be a bump on the road. This is the beginning of a two-start week for Eflin, as he’s set to take on the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday afternoon.
