Zach Eflin Knocked Around In Defeat Despite Home Run
7 years agoAs their division rival Atlanta Braves faced a daunting task in Boston, the Philadelphia Phillies faced the struggling Toronto Blue Jays at Citizens Bank Park. On the mound was right-hander Zach Eflin, who was looking to bounce back after failing to pitch five innings his last time out. Unfortunately for the 24-year-old, he failed to complete that task once again, surrendering six runs on nine hits and a walk on 4 2/3 innings of work. He did strike out seven, however, but it was still a memorable night for Eflin. That’s because in the third inning he connected on the first home run of his career, a shot to center that landed in the Philadelphia bullpen.
