Zach Davies Roughed Up Wednesday
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Zach Davies gave up six runs on six hits and a walk through three innings in Wednesday's win over the Reds. This seems to have been a long time coming for Davies as he has drastically out performed his peripherals so far this season. Heading into the game, Davies ERA was over two full runs lower than his FIP and another run lower than his XFIP, leading us to believe he should have an expected ERA of 4.66. Davies has shown a below average strikeout rate, with a way higher than average strand rate and home run to fly ball percentage, so this blow up shouldn't be surprising. Heading forward, Davies remains a low tier starter for points leagues.
