Zach Davies Lowers ERA To 1.38
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Zach Davies allowed one unearned run on three hits and three walks and struck out two over 5 1/3 innings in Monday's win against the Rockies. Davies has been a confusing pitcher so far this season. He has had one great start where we went seven innings and gave up one run against the Dodgers, but other than that, he hasn't posted a quality start. He's allowing a lot of base runners, he doesn't strike anyone out, but he also doesn't give up runs. His ERA now sits at 1.38 while his WHIP is 1.32. There are some underlying statistics to show that this shouldn't be trusted though. Davies is leaving 87.4% of his runners on base, which is very high and his FIP is at 3.93 as opposed to his 1.38 ERA. Match this with his lack of strikeouts and it looks like Davies could implode any start now. If there is any buyers in a deep league, selling Davies high would be suggested.
