Zach Brzykcy Sharp In Return To Double-A
4 months agoWashington Nationals pitching prospect Zach Brzykcy (elbow) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list on Monday, July 8, and has already logged two outings at Double-A. Brzykcy tossed two innings of relief and did not allow a run or a hit. He struck out two while giving up just one free pass. The 24-year-old underwent Tommy John surgery last April and did not pitch once last season. He performed very well in 2022 across three levels of the minor leagues. where he held a cumulative 1.76 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and a 29:95 BB:K across 61 1/3 frames. He tallied 14 saves. The right-hander may not have an opportunity to reach the majors this season but could emerge as the future closer in the nation's capitol as early as next season.
