Zac Gallen To Start Game 1 Of World Series
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen will start Game 1 of the 2023 World Series against the Texas Rangers on Friday. Not much surprise in the starting pitchers named by manager Torey Lovullo. Merrill Kelly will start Game 2 with Brandon Pfaadt taking the bump for Game 3. Game 4 sounds like a toss-up for now. Gallen has been one of the best pitchers in baseball over the last two seasons. He finished fifth in the Cy Young voting last season and was an All-Star this year. The 28-year-old hasn't been as good in the postseason this year, however. He currently posts a 5.24 ERA and a 6.93 FIP. While facing 96 batters this October, Gallen has 13 strikeouts and has given up six home runs.
