3 years agoThe San Diego Padres agreed to a minor league deal with reliever Yusmeiro Petit on Thursday. The right-hander will get a $1.5 million salary while in the majors if he's added to the 40-man roster and would have a chance to earn $500,000 in performance bonuses for games pitched. The 37-year-old spent the last four seasons with the Oakland Athletics and went 8-3 with a 3.92 ERA in 78 relief appearances in 2021. In 14 major league seasons with the Marlins, Diamondbacks, Giants, Nationals, Angels and A's, Petit has gone 50-44 with a 3.93 ERA.
