Yusei Kikuchi Victimized By Oakland's Hit Parade
6 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Yusei Kikuchi had an afternoon to forget versus the Athletics Saturday. He failed to make it through four innings giving up five runs on 10 hits with only one strikeout on the day. One of his runs was unearned, but this outing snapped a streak of four starts where he gave up three runs or less. Kikuchi is now 3-2 on the season and holds a 3.82 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 50 strikeouts in 63.2 IP. The rookie is worth hanging on to in all formats although wins may become more scarce with the Mariners offense failing to provide the same run support that they were contributing early in the year. Kikuchi's next start will come next week versus the Angels, although his "short" start will be soon on the horizon.
