Yusei Kikuchi Dominates In Wednesday's Start
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays southpaw Yusei Kikuchi hurled 5 2/3 scoreless innings to notch his fourth win of the season in the Blue Jays' 8-0 win over the Chicago White Sox. Kikuchi surrendered just four hits while striking out eight batters over 89 pitches. The lefty has had quite an impressive start to the season and has the second-lowest ERA among qualified starters in Toronto's rotation. He owns a 3.00 ERA, which sits 16 points behind ace Kevin Gausman. On the season, Kikuchi has struck out 28 batters, along with a 1.11 WHIP. He also owns a 23.5% strikeout rate with a 5.9% walk rate and a .250 opponent average. If the 31-year-old can maintain an all-star caliber performance, he could become a trending waiver wire pickup among all leagues.
