Yusei Kikuchi Dominates After Extended Break
6 years agoIt looks like the longer rest worked wonders for Seattle Mariners starter Yusei Kikuchi Friday night. The rookie tossed seven frames of one-run ball as he struck out a season-high 10 batters in the no-decision against the Indians. It was a long overdue terrific outing for Kikuchi, who had been underwhelming through his first month of major league action. The lefty lowered his ERA over half a run to 3.98 and will look to keep his momentum going in a tougher matchup next week at Yankee Stadium.
