Yunior Severino Turning The Corner At Triple-A
5 months agoMinnesota Twins infield prospect Yunior Severino has begun to turn the corner after getting off to a slow start at Triple-A this season. Through April and May, the 24-year-old held a .147 AVG and .221 AVG, respectively, but now is riding an impressive .436 AVG through June. In the past week, Severino has tallied 13 hits, four home runs and posted five multi-hit games. This is a great sign as he struggled through his first taste of Triple-A ball last summer with a poor .233 AVG in 36 games and carried that slump into the early part of this season. He is currently ranked as the number 21 overall prospect in the Minnesota system on MLB Pipeline and is projected to reach the majors later this summer. Even though he is not a highly regarded prospect, he could become an intriguing stash candidate if he continues to showcase this elite power over a prolonged stretch at Triple-A.
