Yuli Gurriel Slugging .515 This Spring
6 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel is enjoying a fantastic spring training, slashing .364/.417/.515 through 33 at-bats. Gurriel is tied for the team lead with five doubles and will be looking to get off to a fast start in 2019 after starting last season on the shelf with a broken hamate bone in his hand. The injury got 2018 off on the wrong foot but Gurriel rebounded to finish the season with 13 home runs and 33 doubles. First base is a stacked position in fantasy but Gurriel is a solid offensive player and hit a searing .403 with runners in scoring position last season. Gurriel should not be a top selection at his position in fantasy but certainly deserves a roster spot in deeper formats.
