3 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel (neck) was placed on the 10-day injured list with neck stiffness, according to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. Gurriel was held out of the lineup the last two games for Houston with the neck issue, and he now heads to the IL in the midst of a hot streak as he was slashing .389/.452/.593 with two homers, 12 RBI and 10 runs scored over his last 15 games. To replace him on the roster, the Astros recalled first baseman Taylor Jones from Triple-A, and he should expect to see decent playing time until Gurriel's return.--Michael
