Yuli Gurriel Back In The Lineup For Tuesday's Tilt
3 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel is back in the starting lineup for Tuesday night's game against Madison Bumgarner and the Arizona Diamondbacks. He's manning first base and batting fourth in the lineup. The 37-year-old hasn't played since Opening Day as he was placed on the paternity list on Friday. While he was out, Niko Goodrum and Aledmys Diaz shared first base duties. Gurriel had a productive season in 2021, slashing .319/.383/.462 with 15 home runs, 81 RBI and 83 runs over 143 games. He was one of the toughest players in the league to strike out last year with a 11.2% strikeout rate that ranked in the 98th percentile.
