Yu Darvish Suffers Tough-Luck Loss
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Yu Darvish lasted 5 ⅔ innings Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves, absorbing his fourth loss with two earned runs. The Friars scrounged just five knocks in a 2-1 loss, squandering a solid start by Darvish where he permitted four hits, two walks and three strikeouts over 95 tosses. The outing was encouraging for the 34-year-old veteran after an IL stint over the All-Star break, and he carries a 3.09 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 29 percent strikeout rate after 110 ⅔ frames. He'll remain a dependable fringe SP1 Sunday on the road against the Miami Marlins.
