Yoshinobu Yamamoto Begins Throwing Program
4 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto (shoulder) has begun his throwing program and threw twice this week out to 60 feet, according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts on Friday. Roberts noted last week that this was a "big step" in Yamamoto's progression as he works to rehabilitate from his rotator-cuff strain. The Japanese right-hander was previously shut down from throwing, so being able to see progress marks a very positive step for a Dodgers rotation that's currently marred with injury concerns. Should Yamamoto continue to progress positively, it should be expected he will return at some point in August. Fantasy managers should prepare their roster accordingly and keep holding onto the 25-year-old until he's back. His 2.92 ERA will greatly help a Dodgers rotation that's likely to add a starter or two via trade before the deadline at the end of the month.
