Yordan Alvarez Taking A Seat Sunday
4 years agoHouston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Texas Rangers. Alvarez has been in the midst of a slump, as he's 3-for-21 with eight strikeouts over his last five games played. Manager Dusty Baker said the slugger looks a bit lost at the plate and that the team is giving him a day off to "get him right." While the stretch is a bit alarming for Alvarez's fantasy managers, they should rest assured that once the slump passes, he'll get back to mashing homers. He still ranks in the 70th-percentile or better in barrel rate, expected batting average, and expected slugging percentage, leading to the belief that he'll get back to producing soon.
