5 months agoHouston Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez was hit on the right knee Saturday by Minnesota Twins starter Joe Ryan. Alvarez initially stayed in the game but was clearly laboring when running the bases. The team removed Alvarez in the eighth inning when Grae Kessinger pinch-hit for him. There was no immediate word on the extent of the injury. Alvarez is hitting .298 with 19 home runs, 50 RBI, four stolen bases and 56 runs scored.--Mike Carter - RotoBaller
