Yonny Chirinos With First Struggles Of The Season
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Yonny Chirinos gave up his first runs of the season Tuesday versus Texas. He went 5 2/3 innings, allowing six runs. He had gone 14 1/3 innings in 2018 without allowing a run before this start. Each time out, he has gone a bit longer in terms of outs recorded. Chirinos was named the Rays 2017 minor league pitcher of the year, so he comes with some talent. The award is also notable for the fact he beat out Brent Honeywell. Chirinos could become an interesting factor in fairly deep leagues if he gets regular starts.
