5 months agoThe Toronto Blue Jays placed right-hander Yimi Garcia (elbow) on the 15-day injured list on Monday with right elbow ulnar neuritis and selected the contract of left-hander Brandon Eisert from the minors in a corresponding move. Garcia was pulled from a save opportunity in Sunday's win over the Cleveland Guardians after feeling discomfort in his right elbow and now he'll have to miss at least the next two weeks. Regular closer Jordan Romano (elbow) is also on the IL, so Toronto's bullpen is going to be thin on the back end moving forward. Manager John Schneider said on Monday that veteran right-hander Chad Green will be the team's interim closer with both Garcia and Romano hurt. Pick Green up immediately if you're in need of saves and he's available on your league's waiver wire. The 33-year-old has two saves already in 2024 with a nice 1.76 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 12 K's in 15 1/3 innings.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
